Fighting Squirrel, i was wondering if you or your son plays for the Ga fighting squirrels? If so, I played yall in an east cobb tournament. They had a lot of hard hitting leftys. I was on the Atlanta Cardinals if you or your son plays for them you should remember the game cause it was a great game. They were winning in the 7th inning and a kid from out team its a 2 run home run to tie the game. We ended up winning in the bottom of the 8th but I remember it being one of the best games I played last year. Anyways, If you are thats great but if not, disregaurd what I just said and thanks for your help. Smile

Rbtiger4,

I remember the game well. It was a great game and you guys played very well that day. I don't think people realize just how many good players are out there in the Atlanta area that do not play for East Cobb for one reason or another. Unfortunately, the Fightin' Squirrels have most likely played their last game as a team. I have so many wonderful memories of watching those boys (Sandy Plains Heat) develop into fine young men (Fightin' Squirrels). I have never laughed so hard and smile so wide while just being around these players. First and foremost, they are a bunch of nuts so the squirrel motiff fits them just fine. In response to your message, I was the assistant coach and my son played 3B. There may be some options you can investigate: Lemke,Pendleton and another former Brave have a training facility in Gwinnett Co., they may field a team and Homeplate in Peachtree City will definitely field several teams for the summer. The Chain out of Savannah is another option within state that I know about at that age. The Ohio Warhawks have had numerous Georgia players on their team but I don't know the specifics on how to tryout for them. WWW.Ohiowarhawks.com is their website. Good luck to you this year. My stepson is Eric Teasley, 05 and attends East Coweta. If you don't mind PM me or post who you are and your school because I like to follow the kids that have played for us and against us during the HS season. Again, good luck and have a great season.
Thats awesome. I am Ross Book 05 centerfield for Duluth. You might remember me, It might have been the first or second inning and i got hit in the calf by a pitch. I played rightfield that day and ended up having to play first base because I could not run. Thanks for the information but I got a letter a few days ago from Creig Young the head coach for Middle Georgia College inviting me to play for a team he is putting together to reprsent Georgia for a tournament down in Hawaii. So im excited about that, I think thats a good opportunity for me and an experience of a lifetime. Good luck to your son as well.
