Do you need a *** change? biglaugh Trinidad is the nations leader in *** change operations. The doctor is retiring though so that will change.

Seriously though, their program is up and coming. They had a pitcher last year drafted fairly high. They are in a league with Lamar CC who has won the league for the last couple of years and is loaded again this year. Not sure about their placements to 4 year schools. Usually a few scouts in attendance expecially when playing Lamar CC, Northeastern CC (Sterling) and Otero CC (La Junta). One of the young websters on here is seriously contemplating going there and has visited. Hopefully he will chime in. Their website isn't the best, but here it is:

The community is fairly small but very clean. Known as a mining town (coal). Fairly good fishing at Trinidad Reservoir. The closest "big" city is probably Pueblo (has a mall laugh) little over an hour drive (straight shot up I25). Nearby communities are Walsenburg and Raton, NM.

Hope this helps,
Frank

bballmom,

FrankF is right about the town. It's pretty much nothing! My dad owned a gun business there about 10 years ago and the best thing in that town is the Pizza Hut!! lol. I have not visited the campus yet but Coach Douglass has offered me a full ride to attend there! Trinidad use to be a very good baseball team and I believe they're coming around again.

I've met all 4 coaches at a showcase about 2 weeks ago and they all seem like a good group of guys! You never know with how coaches are when they recruite you and how they're when you just lost a game for them.

The SS at my highschool just signed there and said he liked the campus and coaches! He isn't in the top 7 SS in the state I don't believe, but he wanted to play college baseball.

If you have any more questions about the school or more my take on the coaches feel free to e-mail me at Absfitch@aol.com.

I'm the person Frank was talking about in his post. Verballed there on Friday. Here's my 2cents:

1) The coaches are amazing guys, really strong people, strong Christians, and are working extremely hard to get things done for the program.
2) Played against their team twice this past fall, and they were very strong.
3) They're working their butts off recruiting all over.
4) Town is kind of small, but not that bad of a place from what I've seen lately.
5) School is old, but is in pretty good shape for a juco.

I thought I'd tack onto this thread with a geographically similar baseball question: what's the word on Mesa State in Grand Junction? My bro played in the JUCO world series a long time ago, and I thought the area around GJ was beautiful. Any opinions?

Don't know a whole lot about it, never been there before. I do know they have a great field, seen lots of pictures of it and know lots of people who've been there. I've seen their team play in Pueblo some, and they're always pretty strong. They're D-2. As for the college itself, dont' know a whole lot, but I do think one of my better friends has verballed to play football there, so I'll ask him.
