Son is a rising Soph there. Loves it. Search the threads as there is a lot on the program here. Infieldad's son went there and also coached for a year.
Very competitive program is run like a D1, coaching is as good as you will find at any program in the country. Typically one of the top 10 DIII's year in and year out, was ranked number 1 for a good part of the year this year. You can look at their website regarding current year costs and they have a decent amount of academic money for help.
PM me if you want more details.
Playing time is very similar to D1's depending on the year. Last year two freshmen got any significant playing time, just something to be aware of.
Let me know if you have any specific questions. My son had a pretty good 4-year career at Trinity. He is still active with several players as a hitting coach.
Excellent school. My niece graduated from there in May, and had a job in her chosen field lined up before graduation. Her boyfriend was on the baseball team, and he is also employed.
I'm a fan of San Antonio. Hot, though. Really hot. It has to be one of the largest cities to NOT have bad traffic problems.
If my son was interested in returning to Texas for college, Trinity would be near the top of the list of preferred schools.
Southwestern is another strong academic option in Texas, although it does not have the historically strong baseball program like Trinity.
My son was offered what I would consider a very good academic package to attend Trinity. I was very impressed and had it been my choice that's where he would have gone but he was determined to take another path.
My son had a 26 ACT and about a 3.4 but it would have cost less than half the published price to attend once we got the scholarship information. I would NOT over look this school or assume you don't want to pay the price. Seems like a very good package of education, aid and baseball to me.
