Just wanted to start a thread asking what everyone thought about Triple Crown and how expensive their events have gotten. Our program does not play in any of their events anymore, because of this reason.

Weekend before last they held event in our area. Charged teams, I believe all ages $500 for a 3 game guarantee, plus $125 for the gate fee. Some teams had to play all 3 games on Saturday, in 30 degree weather with 20 mph North winds, because they overbooked.

What are your thoughts concerning Triple Crown compared to USSSA, Super Series, AABC, CABA, etc....

A program will be as good as the local people running the show rather than the name on the product. Our tournaments are $575 to $675 for four game guarantees. There's a clause that says the schedule is always subject to change due to weather. We know sometimes it's due to overbooking. If tournaments are cancelled we only get a 75% refund if we want the money back. You have to remember these are businesses. They have operating costs.

RJM, What affiliation ar you with?
When I was coaching we played USSSA, CABA and Berkshire Baseball. The team my son is on this year is playing a wider regional scope. I don't know all the affiliations. I know one additional is PG WWBA. Another is a scout league. I never gave much thought to affiliations. I never cared about accummulating points under one affiliation. I looked for quality opportunities to play ball.
