Baseball, TR. Very hot on the fields with games played in hottest part of day (100+), and we're used to hot. Officiating just was off-kilter and odd--allowing all sorts of malicious contact and poor behavior from coaches. Fields spread out so that we had to drive 45 minutes in one direction, then 45 minutes in opposite direction of where we were advised to stay in MB. Concessions very minimal, so if you didn't bring food for DH, you were out of luck because nothing was located near fields. I could go on...

As for beach, our coaches allowed some going to the beach during tournament so long as games done for the day. Honestly, our kids didn't really go to the beach much because it was terribly crowded and frankly, trashed up and dirty due to the crowds. They went to movies, played in the game room, and hung out by the pool a little bit.

This was our last tournament for the season, our kids were also pretty tired and banged up, so that might have colored our opinions. We were hoping for a nice farewell tournament and it turned out to be a disappointment. No one voted to return this year.

I agree with guillgirl on several points. HOT! Take your own drinks and wet cold towels - tents and umbrellas and those battery operated fans.

The tourney was OK - definitely spread out. and South Carolina does NOT adequately mark its roads. So make sure you know where where you are going. Smile I thought competition was OK - felt we played one team who was there on vacation.

We had better luck with hotel and beaches. We stayed near the airport and a par three, so it wasn't crowded. The guys hung around poolside and we cooked out a couple of times. Several brought video games and they chilled playing those too.

Pedro sez come on down.
