Shantzee-
Not sure which HS you are with/root for.

But as mentioned, there were 3 ultimate changes to NR alignment beginning with the 2009-2010 season:

Fairfax moves from Concorde to Liberty
Woodson moves from Liberty to Patriot
Hayfield moves from Patriot to National

The initial R&R proposal had Stone Bridge moving to the Cedar Run District, NW region. But SB made a successful appeal to the VHSL to stay in the Liberty, NR.

At one point, there was definite talk of SB moving to the Concorde but as you can see it didn't happen.

Hope that helps.

This (2009) is Hayfield's last baseball season in the Patriot. They move to National in 2010. According to the Woodson folks I know, Woodson will move to the Patriot for the 2010 baseball season. I'm pretty sure Fairfax moves for the 2010 baseball season as well.

Not sure how this will effect these three athletic programs, but from my seat in the bleachers, the baseball teams will be effected this way:

Hayfield moving to National should greatly enhance their ability to get to the Regions. The National sent two 11-win teams to Regions last season, and Hayfield's young team played better towards the end in a tough Patriot.

Fairfax will probably still be on the outside looking in at Madison, Langley, McLean, and SB. Not much of a change for them - perhaps a slightly better opportunity, but a tough road nonetheless.

Woodson probably increases their chances. They have to face usual powers LB, SC, and WS and a rising TC program, but a down year is possible by all except WS so they may have a chance to grab a slot.

Interested to hear what others think.
