"Turn out the lights, the party's over"--Dandy Don left too soon

I know this isn't baseball but I know some of you folks probably enjoyed Monday Night Football in it's infancy when Don Meredith helped change TV sports announcing. He was the only man who you could see Howard Cosell wanted so badly TO BE for just one day!
In my younger rambling days, I often saw a guy like him in the Texas Honky Tonks ( quick question--are there Honky Tonks in any other state?). Those guys always had the crowd and girls around them and were the life of the party. That's what Don Meredith carried over to Monday Night Football in those days. No announcer has ever quite been like him. RIP.
