My understanding of Coach Frostick is that he is/was a volunteer coach. Also, he was part of the previous coaching regime so he has been there a while. We've met him a few times on campus during the recruiting process this past summer, and he seemed like a real down-to-earth, nice guy. The whole UR coaching staff is fantastic. He is/was involved in a Spiders youth baseball program as well. I don't know if I would use the word "removed" if he has moved on, retired, or is still involved in the organization since he was a volunteer.
Coach Frostick was a volunteer assistant there for the past few years at least. McQueen was the HC, Wheeler and Oxendine were (I assume) paid assistants. Then there was Frostick as a volunteer. This year they brought in a new volunteer assistant (Joey Haug). Since Haug came aboard, Frostick had been listed as Director of Baseball Operations I believe. Now he's not shown at all on their website. I'm not sure what happened, and I can't add a whole lot to the discussion, but I wanted to give an idea of what the coaching had looked like, and what changes have taken place. Again, not sure why any changes were made, just giving an idea of what changes there were.
Frostick coaches four travel teams including 9th and 10th graders. My understanding was that he had to make a choice between University of Richmond coaching or coaching the travel teams. There was an issue with coaching high school kids and working for a university sports program. The NCAA is really cracking down on compliance issues. I suppose tht UofR is especially under the microscope since the texting issue with Carlin Harman the former UofR assistant mens basketball coach.
He was most definitely FIRED.

He has, however, been covertly returning to campus and running some workouts on the sly on more than a few occasions. It actually has gotten to the point where the compliance person has been contemplating getting a restraining order issued to keep him of campus. The athletic department has issued what amounts to an APB so that anyone who sees him on campus has been instructed to contact campus security immediately.

This has become a complete joke and borders on the surreal.
