Does anyone have any experience with the UCLA summer camp? Its a 2 day camp. I want to sign my son up for the High school showcase division. Son was a freshman this past spring that played varsity. He has aspirations of playing at UCLA. We know that this is a lofty goal. Hoping that by sending him to their camp may get him on their radar or at least give him an idea if he has any chance at all. He is a good student. Maybe he is too young? Any comments are welcomed.

If UCLA is not far from your house and the camp cost is reasonable I would say go for it.There will be no pressure on your son to perform well since he'll probably be younger than everyone else.He can get some great instruction from very good coaches and hopefully he'll get some kind of evaluation too. He'll gain experience as to how these college camps work and this will help him with future prospect camps and showcases.
My son's first camp of any kind was during the fall of his sophomore year.He went to The UC San Diego prospect camp and had a great time.He was the only sophomore. All the rest of the players were Juniors and Seniors. No pressure at all and he learned what to expect at future camps. The camp price was reasonable and it was only a 15 mile drive from our house. All in all a great experience.
One thing that I'll always remember about that camp is Jamie Moyer and Brett Boone were there. They were sitting in the stands with all the other parents.Jamie Moyer's son was one of the senior players participating in the camp. Those guys were super cool Very normal and down to earth guys having fun in the stands watching Hutton Moyer and all of the other players.Great memories for me !
Have fun at UCLA !
If your son is UCLA-level, it would be a good idea to go; I think UCLA recruits guys quite early in their high school careers...many soph signees.

Don't know if he is or not. Hoping to get some honest feedback from the camp.
HI--when is the camp? I know this is July, but when and how much is it?
Go if it is close and convenient. Frankly you would know by now if he was UCLA material. Keys: Plus-plus velocity for pitchers. LH bats with speed for position players. Anything else will not get their attention but he will likely learn a lot when he sees the competition.
HI,
It is very close enough. He is a catcher with a pop time of 1.8 average--Have gotten great feedback from local coaches, Hasn't let anyone on 2nd when they try to steal. Batting average of 3.50 give or take..Just want the exposure for him.. When is the camp> ?

I think you may have missed their HS prospect camp. It looks like it was last weekend
Camp was this past weekend. He learned a lot and I thought he did well for a 2016. HC asked what HS he played at. Also was one of a select few kids that they filmed hitting during the games. Then again I am his dad so my opinion is biased . This was his first college showcase camp.
This camp was on my 2016s radar but we decided to wait. Can you give me your best guess how many kids total, distribution between 2016, 15, 14? UCLA happens to be close by but not sure son would go there. Is it more for kids planning to attend UCLA, or really just open to anyone?

There were maybe 50 position players and 20 pitchers (just guessing? There was a raise of hands by class. I would venture to guess 10 or so were 2016's. since it was a showcase, I am guessing most kids that were there would like to attend there. It was not an invite only so it was opened to anyone, so the talent level varied quite a bit. This is my sons dream school so he wanted to attend just because its UCLA. Hoping he gets on the radar.
Son just finished up the UCLA camp for the second time. Went last year as well. I was really impressed with how the camp was run. Coach Savage was there the whole time and watched every kid play hit and pitch. He also spoke to the parents before the show case began. Class act all the way.
