Coach Penders is a first class individual and he played at UConn. His father is actually my son's high school coach, who also played at UConn. My son has been to a couple of camps at UConn and he really likes Coaches Penders, Elliott, Blood, and Podeszwa.

The baseball field is outstanding and they have recently upgraded the athletic facilities. There is a new indoor practice facility used by the football team that the baseball team also uses. The campus is somewhat isolated out in the country but it is nevertheless very nice. Admissions to UConn are getting more difficult. I hope your son enjoys his visit.

UConn is a member of the Big East conference and they play teams such as Notre Dame, Louisville, South Florida, St. John's, Villanova, Rutgers, etc. Last season, Uconn had a great year and won 38 games. This season so far, they are around .500.

Back from UCONN. We enjoyed it. My son liked the facilities and the campus. There were about 20 prospects there. Coach Penders said this group was his top list, that he doesn't invite his whole database anymore. That was interesting, we expected many more prospects. We got to watch a game and get a feel for the school. Good way for my son to have a basis for starting to think about making this big decision. Thanks for the advice. We will keep you posted.
