Please respond, I'm not sure of the start up rule? I received a call from a parent, asking if structured intra squad scrimmages are legal, this time of year?
It occurs during the baseball class.

Since the high schools are still technically in their off season programs, all practices, scrimmages, etc...must take place during the class period for which it is scheduled. When my son was in high school, baseball was their last block of the day and ran from something like 2:00 to 3:30. You can certainly intrasquad during this time.
3 weeks before the season starts, teams will shift into "in season mode" and practices can extend beyond the normal class period (i.e. extra curricular). Usually this is during the last week in January here in TX. I hope this helps.

Thank you for the responses. I think DD hit it the nail on the head. It is during class period. Back when my son was in high school 2000-2003, they did not do this.
