Two of my teammates recieved invitations, and I'm trying to help them out. Does anyone know about Under armour tryouts, what do you do? (60 yard dash, throwing, etc...), How many scouts usually attend? Is it worth going to?
My son got one of these a few days ago, for the one in the Seattle Area (Edmonds CC I think)...he can't go due to reasons of being like 8000 miles away that day, but I was wondering where they even got his name? There was no letter or anything.....just brochures......
You do not say how old you are but I presume you are High School age. They get your name from typically 2 places, HS Coaches or other players who indicate the names of the best players they have seen. Or perhaps your summer coach provided a list of names. In any case it is not a bad thing - especially if you are selected.
In saying that, these guys are also in a business to make money. They more who pay to 'tryout' the better for them. But it never hurts to go and get your name out there. A key question(s) would be - how many are your going to put on the teams, how many teams etc.
They will typically look at the things you are saying, 60 yd time, arm strength, swing, foot work, pitching mechanics if u pitch etc
