It still early in the season, but Hopkinton has solid group of Sophmores. Amoung them McManus is 5 for 8 with a double so far, McCormick is 3 for 5 with a homerun and double, Bonifant is 4-6 and White is 3 for 7, hitting when it counts with 4 RBIs. Pitching, McManus and Bonifant have both picked up wins and Bonifant and McCormick are showing 0.0 ERAs.
I have heard Fortin at North has been playing very well as a Freshman playing on JV and has seen some time on the Varsity Team. Like Redsox8191 mentioned he has some Pop for a Freshman. As a catcher I have heard he's ready for Varsity and what ever it takes for the Pitching rotation to be comfortable for what ever they want to throw and not worry about a passball that's the guy defensively, he's solid behind the plate.

I heard that Maloney did really well, I was disappointed I missed the game I would have liked to seen him, I got word that he was hitting 80-81 mph in the 5th inning, keep in mind the kid is only 15 years old.

Cassidy kid is an athlete and the more innings he is on the field the better and better he becomes as a baseball player. Its great these two have got the chance on such a solid team.
Your right! The more playing time the better for these guys. Their lucky to be playing with such a solid team. Good Luck to The Lancers hope they have a great year!
Maloney is only 15 and Kid Cassidy is only 14! Pretty impressive for a couple of freshmen!
I'm looking forward to catching a couple of games when Maloney's on the mound and Kid Cassidy playing outfield.

Maloney faced my fall team and he was 80-81 in the fall as well. I believe I spoke to you about him at the fall league championship game.

The kid has awesome arm action and a great frame to grow into. Just has power pitcher written all over him. I know Londonderry has program with a good S&C and off-season setup. He reminded me of my HS teammate Kyle Jackson with his lank and arm action. Showed a decent breaking ball too... Stay healthy kid!!!

Just curious... who votes on this? Never heard of a rookie of the week award for NH HS baseball.
