Being the coach at a Catholic School, I am, after 10 years of patching, sewing, begging and pleading, going to get new uniforms this year.

I'm not too concerned about the jerseys, as they don't take too much abuse. Ahhh, but the pants.....

There are so many brands, types, lengths, etc., that it makes your head swim. I'd love to get some input from other coaches or team managers. I'm not necessarily looking for a referral to brands (though I'll take that), but what tends to be the best material? I assume that the heavier the weight (14 oz. vs. 10 Oz.)would be better, but ... polyester? poly/cotton blend? stretch polyester?

We play in cold weather, for the most part, so heavy pants wouldn't be a bad thing. And, as you might guess, I'm looking for some pants that'll hold up for a while.

Any assistance would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Look at the baseball pants (ankle height) from Majestic. They are close to five years of wear!

OBTW: With all due respect to Ward, it was MLB MInf Woody Held (played late 50's early 60's) who said:
