My son (2009) was recruited by Iowa.
Head Coach, Jack Dahm, came from Creighton, where he did a nice job.

Dahm seems like a real passionate guy. Have heard he is a stickler for fundamentals, and runs a pretty strict, no-nonsense program.

They seem to have a good following among fans, and do alot of community-related programs.

Ryan Brownlee, recruiting coordinator, has been there 8 or 9 years and comes from a great baseball family. Ryan and his brother Tim played for their Dad, Jim Brownlee, at Evansville.

Very expensive for an out-of-stater ($40k+, if I remember correctly?), but a great school with a gorgeous campus!

Super tradition and football program is really on the rise.
Unbelievable atmosphere on football Saturdays!

Good baseball facilities (stadium, indoor facility, study hall, weight room, etc)

Big 10 baseball is probably upper-middle of the pack in D1, although adding Nebraska will only help.

The biggest drawback is the weather in Iowa! (and Michigan, and Ohio, Nebraska,Indiana and Pennsylvania. I think Minnesota still plays indoors?)

Iowa recruits quality kids and really emphasizes academics.

They have had several drafted players in recent years.

If your Son is being recruited by them, then by all means, it would be a great choice.

If not, in my opinion, there are other schools that are comparable academically and athletically and are lower cost and better weather.

PM me if you have any additional ?'s.
