University of West Florida

IMO, I think it would be extremely difficult. That is a top tier D2 school with great talent. Look at the roster. Do detailed searches to see if they have a PG rating or what summer team they played with. This will give you a really good idea of talent level. For instance, there is a (now) sophmore infielder who played with FTB Mizuno who was recruited there and didn't play. Research such as this is what I recommend you do. Be honset with yourself and if you think you are good enough, then go for it. Without knowing your true talent level, however, it is hard to provide you with a direct answer to your question.

Have you considered any of the Florida NAIAs?Florida Memorial is by you. Also maybe Ave Maria in Naples, Webber or Southeastern. Also Florida Christian and Clearwater Christian could be alternatives.

Lots of schools have fall showcases you coud go to.

I have to agree with 2013 Dad, that it would be extremely difficult to walk on at West Florida (uninvited walk on) as he's right that they are a top DII playing in one of the very toughest DII conferences in the nation with Delta State, North Alabama, Alabama at Huntsville, and Vadosta State all being conference rivals. The last two years either the DII National champion or runner up has come out of this conference and the previous season former member Southern Arkansas was #1 in the nation for much of the season (2010). Having said that, I saw West Florida play several times last year and they are a well coached, talented team. Definitely not likely to rely on walk ons.

Probably more difficult than me high jumping 7'..

I won't say that you have no chance, but anyone attempting to make the team, as a walk-on, at an established baseball four year school has a mountain to climb. I'd suggest looking at D3 or an NAIA program. Many established schools have intramural or club sports also. Maybe it's time to just move on?
