The UNLV showcase was pretty good. There were over 200 kids in attendance. Each player was assigned to a team that had a roster of 17-18 kids (12 teams). There were six stations (offense, defense, 60 times, etc...). The UNLV Baseball Facilities is top notch, and the coaching staff was very friendly.

The invited coaches/scouts from the other organizations were great with the kids and had excellent advice, however, since they were working at only one station, they could not see the kids in other areas. Hopefully, any notes taken will be shared with those coaches who may have missed something in those areas?

Due to the number of kids/teams there was only one game played. Each player had 2 AB's (some rec'd 3 AB's), and played 3 to 5 inning's in the field depending on the need for that position. Unfortunately, if you did not state that you were a "Primary" pitcher, you probably didn't see anytime on the mound.

Overall my son enjoyed the UNLV High School Baseball Showcase Camp, and we'd recommend it to other players in the future...especially if you want to spend a little time in Las Vegas too Wink!
