2015 is making unofficial visit on Halloween to a D1 that is one of his top 2 schools. Being his first time making a visit, what should he expect? I have looked around on the site and have found a few bits of info. Any info is helpful. Thanks for help on this matter and we are looking forward to the process

I can only relay what we experienced with our 2 sons, both D1 pitchers.

Tour the campus and facilities, talk with the coaches, watch a practice...perhaps talk with academic folks.  Maybe a 1-on-1 with head coach.  If on a weekend, maybe go to a football game.  And in some cases, Q&A with current players without coaches present.

Out of 6 or 7 of these through both sons, I only remember actually getting an offer during one of them.

Just as described above, its a real nice experience for the family. You will get wiser by each visit and have better questions. You will notice your son will be much more at ease the second and third time around. If you are one of their priory recruits they will really turn on the charm. Everyone you walk by will say hello and you will be on campus at least 3 hours.

UPDATE: We (Mom, son and I) had our visit. Director of Baseball Operations toured us around the baseball facilities, met the Head Coach, spent 30 minutes with Academic Advisor for Baseball, toured the campus, watched practice; at the beginning of practice talked with Head Coach and Asst Coach (recruiter) asking questions, talked and questioned many players, and after practice sat down with Asst Coach (recruiter) and other Asst Coach for some more Q&A. All in all we spent 5 hours getting a great feel for the school and program. They have a Prospect Camp around Christmas that we will be attending. Felt like it all went well.
