I'm a 2010 LHP(sidearm). I'm starting late trying to get seen and have only attended a couple of showcases and one camp. My parents are finally on board with me going for it but I know I am way behind.

I just heard about the Impact Unsigned Senior Showcase to be held in November at Wingate University. The problem is that there are also two camps being held that same weekend at schools that are in my top 5 list. I will have a chance to show in front of one of the schools before that date (ECU) but the other school (UNC-C)has never seen me play. Is there likely to be a good amount of recruiters at the showcase since it's an "Impact" showcase? Or am I better off attending the camp at a school I am very interested in? I'm trying to be seen by as many coaches as possible since I'm starting late. It seems every camp and showcase mentions a good number of coaches present but I'm finding that that is not always the case. Does anyone know if the Unsigned Senior showcase is a good way to get seen?

If you go to ECU's or UNCC's camp you will be seen by their staff only. If you go to the Unsigned Sr Showcase you will be seen by many staffs from several different levels of play. This showcase is heavily attended every year. From your earlier posts your chances of getting an offer or serious interest from ECU or UNCC is highly doubtfull. Your a low 80's pitcher and a senior.

Your going to get much more bang for your buck and time attending the Unsigned Sr showcase at Wingate.

I agree with Coach May, go to the Impact Unsigned Senior Showcase, there will be a larger, wider variety of schools which will broaden your opportunities.

IMO the impact showcases are excellent and my son garnered a lot of interest as a result of his attendance.

Find a way to seperate yourself from the others and go for it!

Good luck.....
In the past just about every D1 2 3 and JUCO in NC attends. Also several from SC VA TN attend. I think last year there were 38 college programs represented along with the ML Scouting Bureau.

Several kids each year get offers after the event. Usually there are around 100-125 kids at the event. I think its a pro style format where they run the 60 twice. Then the infielders take ground balls. Outfielders then throw to third then home three times. Catchers throw down to 2B. BP on the field. And then the pitchers throw pens where they are gunned. The catchers are evaluated as well catching the pens. Its a very good event and I am sure the thediamondprospects event is very good as well.

Thanks for everyone's input. Looks like the Unsigned Showcase in NC will be the better choice.

Maximize the Impact of the showcase by making contact with those colleges you are interested in and have the proper skill level to play at and let them know you are interested in them and that you are attending the showcase.

You could also do an unofficial visit to the colleges you are really interested in before the showcase and hopefully they will follow-up by attending the showcase to see you demonstrate your skills.

You may want to note that it is the last weekend before the Dead Period and the winter quiet period, so you will want to maximize the chances to be seen:

Good Luck and enjoy the ride!
