What's the word on who will coach?

is it confirmed they are bringing baseball back? If so what year....2007?

I'm not sure this web page has enough bandwidth to hold all the rumors of who is supposed to be taking over the job as head coach @ UNT.

I heard it was Coach Mo Fitz from Keller.

When does North Texas plan on starting their baseball program? I have looked all over their website and can't find any info.

The field you are referring to, is that the new softball field? I think the location where Denton Liberty Christian used to be is the new softball field. Does anyone know for sure?

Pick swingdoc! Pick swingdoc! He can double as the freshman scrabble coach --- I once saw finish off an opponent by triple-word-scoring with rikoshay! Besides he will never bunt his 3-hole hitter and seldom throws at kids in BP. Does it get any better than swingdoc?

Come to think of it --- I heard the first UNT coach would be a former HS coach with at least one trip to RoundRock. Are you sand-bagging coach?

Wanna be considered for the 1B box and I have a horse in the race. Have given my word to keep his name quite and you know what that means.

I'll be your 1st base coach and your recruiting coordinator. Remember, I used to coach at a private school so I have lots of experience...hahaha!!!

Getting you would probably move me to the dugout. People say you're prettier than me! You need to be out recruiting. Borrow a tricked up radar gun and we can start out with a pitching staff that all throw mid 90's. If you don't know where to get it I can tell ya.

Got an email back from the AD today, they still haven't hired a coach. Guess they will put a team together last minute.

UNT baseball isn't going to happen for a while. I have sources "in the know" and they have told me that Baseball is last on their list. There are several other facilities and programs they want to improve before they put a shovel in the ground...I am a college baseball fan too
and I want them to get it going but it is going to take time and someone (not the school) to write a BIG check...

It seems as though as new field was to be built for the summer collegiate team in Denton.

I saw the dirtwork that was started last summer.

Where did Denton's TCL team play last year?

I wish UNT would field a team. Another potential opponent for Dartmouth if they make a TX road trip in next 2 years.

Denton's TCL team... the Outlaws... played at the old Liberty High School's fields in Denton (now owned by UNT).

Look at former FM coach and present Asst. TCU Coach Derek Matlock to get a hard look. My understanding is the team will form in 2007.

Denton's TCL team played at Liberty in 2005 and will play at Ryan HS in 2006. I think you are looking at 2008, 09, 10 before it gets rolling...It is going to take a check from someone outside the school as UNT won't pay for it...Matlock, Newman at DBU, M. Thompson at Baylor are some good choices for coach....They are all winners...

I can confirm the last two posts as that is what I have heard around my water cooler right after DM took his current position at TCU.

the unt team is going to be fielded in the 2008 Season. I wish it was sooner!
