Fellow Websters,

Words can't begin to describe how I am feeling. Chad returned to the Doctor today and after waiting an additional two and a half hours due to the Doc being in surgery we were finally seen. Chad has multiple fractures to the side he was hit on and another fracture on the right side however the Doc said it was pretty miraculous but everything that was fractured had aligned perfectly and unless anything changes he does not forsee surgery. Chad is on a soft diet for 6 weeks and has been released to begin playing baseball immediatley.

I know that this has happened because of the many prayers on this board and the area churches. Thank you all so very much from the entire Alligood family.

Never underestimate the power of prayer. You can't keep a good man down Chad!! I hope he is not going to suffer the fear of being hit again - make sure he knows that everyone has that uneasy feeling after a tramatic experience, but that he needs to get right back on the mound and have faith in himself. Those kinds of accidents are once in a lifetime and he has already gone through his.
Jemaz,

We questioned returning so soon but the Dr. said unless he was to take a direct blow to the area there should be nothing to worry about. It was hopefully a once in a lifetime deal so with the Lord watching over him I am not overly concerned, not to mention the fact that he is 21 now and the only thing I can do is point out the pros and cons, he must make the choice.

PAmom,

Thank you so much. Yes our prayers (with the help of the websters) were answered for sure. He had a followup with the Dr. today and everything is fine, he must stay on the soft diet another 2 to 3 weeks but otherwise should be ok. On the field he has not missed a beat. In the six games he's been back, he's batting .364 and has fielded perfecly.
