I must be on the wrong website cause I thought i saw 2 of the undefeated go down today. Naz and Hinsdale Central. I didn't see anyone posting HC scores today but, I did reaad a post from a Yorky Duke guy. So, I guess confernce is really up for grabs now fellas. And I might have read OP-rf lost another conference game. C'mon boys let's all come together and hold on for one another and let it come down to the final weekend again. Ah isn't the spring fun?
Excited ?? I'm not excited they lost. I keep thinking that people are quick to put there records on here when they are undefeated. But, when they lose a game or 2 they disappear pretty quick. And I want Naz to do well and get to the playoffs on a high note. They are a good team but they haven't really played any conference games yet. It's a long season and it's a tough conference. I love Gio Cantwell, But I worry about his arm. His college coach should be worried also. He is NOT a pitcher. He is the best dang SS in this area. He has the smoothest hands around. He can't pitch 100 innings for Naz without some concern for that arm of his. They need to get Ian back quickly. So Gio can slow down on the innings. It is after all high school baseball and he has som much more ahead of him. UIC is going to love him at either SS or 2nd base.
Sweaty,
Win or loose I'll always post Naz's record. Your correct, ESCC play will be difficult. When you play two game series against Benet, Carmel, Joliet Catholic, Notre Dame, and Marist it will be difficult to even play .500 ball. This kind of conference schedule might not boad well for an amazing record but it will make ESCC teams battle tested for regionals. Your also correct about Gio. He needs to take care of his arm because he has a bright future at UIC. Up to this point he has thrown once a week and never more than 80 pitches. I wouldn't get to worried just yet. If they bring him back Wednesday against Benet (after throwing game 1 Saturday) I would start getting worried. I'm sure Gio is being smart about the amount of pitches he throws and how often.

Steve is a talented kid. The future is bright at Naz with their 09, 08 and 07 class.
