My son flew up to Chicago today for a workout with the Diamondbacks and Delta lost ALL his gear! Anyone have access to any gear? He is buying new cleats in the AM and sliders. But everything opens at 9 which is when he is supposed to check in.

Son has a car and can travel.
Thank you!
Dad08! Wow,what a life saver! This online community is simply amazing!
My son arrived in Chicago last night for a workout with the Diamondbacks this morning and Delta Airlines lost all his luggage which included all his gear.
I reached out to anyone I could think of and was prepared to buy all new gear for him but stores open at 9 which is when he needed to be on the field.
I posted this request for help last night and Dad08 in California reached out to me! He had a friend in Chicago who had played.
Dad08 was able to get a hold of him late last night and my son drove to his house around midnight.
The friend of Dad08 had everything my son needed down to the right sized bat, cleats that fit, sliders, pants, hat, glove it was amazing! And so generous!
Thank you Dad08 and your friend (and now mine) Brian. And thank you HSBaseballweb for being here and building this community of baseball enthusiasts who truly care about one another!!!
Great story!
Also, a lesson on what not to check. Try to carry on critical baseball gear.
Tell us how the workout goes.

It was odd, he never checks his critical stuff, especially his glove! He has to check bats, airline will not let you carry those on.
Pretty incredible, hopefully all good things continue,,,
This IS a great story.
That's great. Hope he has a great workout.
Good luck to your son! I hope that it all works out!
FF: That is a great story and hopefully a wonderful omen! Best of luck to you boy.
Player from Florida in Chicago gets help from someone in California because of a website in Minnesota.
Amazing!
It is a small world isn't it... Glad that I was able to make the connection and Brian was able to help. He texted me this morning saying what a nice guy he was - and that they were outfitting him at 1AM in his basement. Having been in Brian's basement, I'm sure that there were multiples of everything for FF son to chose from.
Now go knockem dead at the workout!!!

This is wonderful how it all came together!
However, a word of warning, stash critical gear under the seat! I traveled with son from CA to Georgia for tournament play. We packed his gear, uniform and cleats in a carry on (wisely, we thought) and stowed it directly overhead. Our plane stopped briefly in Phoenix to allow some passengers to deplane. Unfortunately, my son's critical gear carry on was taken by mistake by another passenger, who then took it on to New Mexico. We did not catch the mistake until we landed in Georgia. What a nightmare! And of course, since it was not airline error, getting help to resolve the issue was a challenge. I completely understand how this player and parent felt. My son was lucky in that he had team mates to borrow from until his bag made it's way to Atlanta. But the hardest part was keeping his coach from knowing he was borrowing gloves, hats, etc. because he didn't want to appear irresponsible.
