Any info on these schools other than their website? Academics, Baseball program including coaching staff, recruiting, etc.

Baseball is up in the air at UMass. There are rumors of it's demise.
Those rumors seem to have been put to rest after flaring up last season. But they could come back.
I can't tell you much about URI yet, but get back to me after fall and I'll let you know. The tone of my response will tell you how walk-on tryouts went.

What made URI the choice before fall tryouts? URI with the coaching staff is a growing program. UMASS could be if it gets the financial support.
Son liked the school the best of all his choices and made his decision largely on that basis. Also likes the coaches and the fact that the program wins. Also the school where his preferred position will open up the fastest.

Located in a great area on the East Coas
Played a very strong out of conference schedule this year
I felt that they deserved to be in Final 64 for NCAA's this year
UMASS
Coach Stone is still on the recruiting trail -- saw him at game sa few weeks back
In same conference with URI
For whatever the reason they seem to come up short every season
UCONN
Middle of the pack in the Big East every year
Excellent coach in Jim Penders
Excellent facility and a great college environment
They are g finally beginning to get more in state players
You cannot go wrong with any of the three regarding academics and baseball
