Sorry, I'm not familiar with USA Athletics International or the level of competition. But, son has played in tournaments internationally and as a whole it was a great experience; the travel, opportunity to meet players from around the world who love baseball, and see other countries through a sports venue. It really depends on what you expect to get out of the experience. The level of competition may or may not be as good as what you are use to and will depend on the tournaments entered and countries/teams participating. You should look at the baseball side of this opportunity as you would any other. Ask them about the organization's reputation and experience, who are they playing, and the level and experience of the coaching staff. Traveling abroad with young kids takes great coordination. You will want to go with an established company.

IMO- generally, international baseball should be viewed mainly as a vacation that has opportunity to play a little baseball at the same time. No college scout will be in Europe or Asia to watch these games unless he happens to be your coach, the parent of a player, or on vacation! Big Grin So if the budget allows, do it just to have fun.
Thanks RHP05. I'm a junior in college right now, so it would be solely for the experience of playing somewhere other than the midwest, and to see a little bit of Europe (something a history major might want to do in his day). I think I was asked to go based on my numbers from last spring and the fact that I was an all-conference team member. Right now I'm waiting to hear from the organization some more to learn more about it, as well as see if any of the teams in the NCAA summer leagues are interested after sending my information out to quite a few teams.
