My son played for the USA Baseball U14 last summer. The exposure was unbelievable. He is now on everyone's radar. It was a fluke. We didn't even know about the USA Baseball U14. My son was actually playing for a U16 team. His team was playing a couple extra tournaments in Peoria before the big tournament. At the first tournament he pitched the first game. Someone from the USA baseball saw him and found out he was only 14. They told his coach they wanted him for sure for the U14 team. The rest is history. He is now been selected for an all-american team, and traveling the entire summer to every major baseball school on the east coast and some on the west coast.

Really? You are making a huge mistake if that's all he is doing- going to every major baseball school and not playing on a regular team. What all-american team are you talking about?
He is also playing for his school, and two different club teams as well. I don't know you so I do not want to share any further info yet. It is very political with his high school coaches and parents always trying to gain browny points by trying to hurt players. The High school coaches want to control what he does, and will not be happy at first when they find out he is playing with a national team. We are recognizing them on his bio when asked who helped reach his level of play.

Thanks for the concern.

I'd love to hear about this "National Team" as well, and find out more about your boy.
PM me please.

Trust me on this one- You are going down a bad road. Sounds like he's playing with FOUR teams? Wow! Pick a team and let the kid play.

FYI- I would love to here about this "National" team. Finally, your kid is a freshman? Why does he have a bio and what do you think he has actually achieved? He's a kid!! Look, I've seen and coached alot of great players. The last thing they need is to be put on a pedestal- and that's exactly what you are setting up with this kid!
The only national team I can think of at a 16U age group is either the USA Baseball or the Bobby Valentine All American and since the team in question in this thread will play the whole summer then it is likely the Bobby Valentine team. We got an invitation to try out for this team but declined even though it was in our backyard.

I got an email from the Bobby Valentine All American Foundation notifying me about the rosters for the Summer team ( RR23JR did not tryout ).
This is the website for your viewing pleasure during your free time. This the only 16U All American team that is meantioned in the threads.

Bobby Valentine ALL American

Congratulations to all who made it! Should be a very busy and expensive summer unless it's all free.
Keep us up to date!
