This summer amateur baseball players from Northern Texas will have an opportunity to tryout for USA Baseball’s Northern Texas Regional NTIS Team.

These tryouts will not interfere with players' committments to their summer teams and is the exclusive way for younger players to make it to the USA Team trials. Some clubs forbid players from participating in USA Baseball events, but this deprives good players from the most important opportunity to be seen by scouts and to represent their country.

The Northern Texas Region will be sending three teams (13U, 15U and 17U) to USA Baseball’s National Training Complex in Cary, NC to compete in the National Team Identification Series (NTIS). The NTIS program, in its third year of existence, serves as a vehicle to identify and recruit the most talented baseball players in the nation to tryout for an invitation to USA Baseball’s National Team Trials.

“One of the real priorities of the program is to offer players more of a localized evaluation opportunity than ever before,” said Rick Riccobono, USA Baseball Director of Development. Before you can be considered for the National Team, you must first be identified at a regional selection camp.

“While the priority of our selection camps will be to find the best baseball players within our region”, explains Tommy Hernandez, Director of the Northern Texas NTIS Region, “Our goal is to provide a top notch opportunity that players of all levels will be able to benefit from.”

The 2011 USA Baseball NTIS again promises to be one of the most heavily-scouted baseball events of the fall. Tommy Hernandez, founder and president of the Dallas Tigers Baseball Club, said, “My teams have always participated in USA Baseball events because the opportunity to play for your country is the highest honor achievable by any player. I am excited to be chosen to direct this region’s trials. With the help of my staff, I intend to identify players in the 13, 15 and 17 year old age groups to form three competitive teams to travel to Cary, NC in September.”

Accordingly, Hernandez has assembled a very impressive coaching staff to administer the selection camps. “Our coaches know the game, love the game, and are the best teachers of the game around,” says Hernandez.

Baseball players interested in participating in one of the Northern Texas Regional Selection Camps must have been born between 1994 -1999. Visit http://www.northtexasntis.com for registration details and camp locations. There will also be a tournament for 15U and 17U teams where additional players will be identified for the North Texas team that will travel to Cary.

Let me preface my comments by saying that my son does not nor has he ever played for Tommy or his organization. He has competed against the Tigers for a number of years, however; and I've always been impressed with Tommy and his field demeanor and feel that he will represent this area effectively.
As you all know, I don't spend much time on this website. I post information and facts. This "jackass" is why I seldom get on here. I will be breif. As far as the coaches for the evaluation camps, I met with Shane Currin and Sam Carpenter to see if they were interested. They declined. I have a college coach working the camp that coaches in an other club, not mine and a high school coach that doesn't coach in the club. If you, luvtxball have one hair on your balls, you will meet with me and quit hiding behind your wife's skirt (luvtxball). Anyone that has every dealt with me knows I tell it like it is. So come see me luxtxball you coward!

Newscout, whoever you are. I have two coaches on staff and myself. I will have other fungo hitters and BP throwers at the event, as needed. If you would like to throw great BP or hit great fungo, let me know. I will select the 18 kids that I feel will represent North Texas and compete for the USA national team in Cary.It doesn't matter to me who these boys play for in the summer. If there are 15 Tigers that deserve to make the team, than they will be selected. If I feel none of my Tiger kids deserve to be selected, they wont. Period. My next post will be in the middle of August after I select the Cary teams. Hope you have a nice summer.

Stick around Tommy. This place is comic relief.

I'll be interested to see how the USA thing works out. I see they are making push to bring in the players. Maybe it had something to do with Bundy and Bradley turning the invite down last summer to stay focused on the quest for Farmington.

Best of luck and go USA!
