CNU lost the first to Ferrum , botching a suicide in the 9th that would've given them lead, then beat Greensboro in the bottom of the 9th, then was eliminated by NC Wesleyan 13-3. (hard to overcome a team going up 8-2 after 3 innings, on 3, count em, three hits..walks, walks, walks)

Silver lining: last game was over early so CNU got every postion player into the game, starters got excited for the bench guys getting to play, and by the end the players were having a ton of fun,a good reminder that it is a game after all. They even got an AB for an attempted walk on bullpen catcher that didn't make the cut, but came back in the spring to catch in the bullpen. He will always be able to say he actually played and it's now in the books.
The Weatherman wins, the Sunday games were cancelled, and Ferrum, winners of their first three games, was declared the champion, gaining the automatic NCAA tournament spot.

Congratulations to Ferrum! This was truly about whichever team could put together 4 good days of baseball, although it turned out to take only 3.
