Well, I just registered since I saw this. I play for the Biscuits and for Leyden High School.

First off, the name Biscuits was the name that a few of our players came up with, based on the minor league team, the Montgomery Biscuits.

Secondly, this topic had nothing to do with Leyden's high school team, so I see no reason for you to bring it up, except that you just wanted to bash Leyden's program, which is completely ridiculous. This summer we are playing almost 10 games over .500 and have beaten both Lyons Township and Hinsdale Central, in addition to playing very close games with OPRF and DGS.

If you want to bash the Biscuits, then feel free too, but don't bring Leyden into it, especially when you have no idea how the program is shaping up, or how we have played this summer.

Hey MR what travel team do you coach around here?

Also being an ex-Leyden player I will say that this class of soon to be juniors is a very talented group. If they can find another pitcher they will be solid.

While the Biscuits team does primarily consist of Leyden guys, they have picked up a few other players, specfically another pitcher, who is homeschooled and not allowed to play at Leyden for unannounced reasons.

However, I will state again that this team is much more talented than the team that I played for, and instead of having 3 good players, they have 6 or 7 that are able to make a contribution.

By the way MR, Im pretty sure that when I played, our one and only match against your beloved Naz ended with us winning, and myself pitching 6 shutout relief innings and a few RBIs.

I know the Leyden program VERY WELL and it is not heading in the right direction. It won't improve intill the leadership and player/parent attitudes change. Along with its youth baseball leagues. Leyden is a slight step above the Proviso programs. They are at a talent level of a Willowbrook or Addison Trail. If you think any differently then your in denial. Players/parents from Leyden have no idea what elite baseball looks like. I have seen Leyden baseball from the inside and outside and it is not pretty.

MR, Take the name out of your post. While you might have issues with the coach, it is not right to take shots at him. He works very hard for the kids in our conference, and is a huge part of the stevenson showcase. He calls coaches for kids, is always putting up his kids for showcases and awards and works hard as the head coach. Weaver, I guess they have not seen your kid brother throw the ball yet.

Hey MR what is your problem? First you knock the coach, then the players and finally the parents. Time to get off of your little pony and start to look at yourself! Leyden's program is going the right direction. We have a solid group of soon to be juniors that have a strong desire to win. Are we elite yet? No, but we are trying to work to get there. Is your team elite yet? I don't think so. Whatever happenned in the past between you and Leyden is just that, in the past. Stop moaning about what could have or should have or should be. Your comments have just put a blanket description on all of our players. Do you really think that they have no desire to win? The junior class is comprised of players that won and placed in a number of tournaments against some pretty good competition.

I don't know where you get off saying the things that you did except that you must be very bitter. Get off of it and give these kids some credit

Yea im a player on the Biscuits and you all have to get your info straight.....We do play weaker teams than most top teams in the state, but that doesnt mean that we cant play any tought teams. The Leyden Biscuits formed a team this year not to travel and win nationals and all that, but just to play some ball over the summer so that we dont become rusty for fall ball. The team consists of players from the Leyden Renegades who have won many top tournaments in the past until they broke up last year, and players from the Leyden Eagles who were in the same division as the Renegades in the MSBL, which is a dominant league for many top travel baseball teams such as the Glendale Heights Spartains, Illinios North Stars and the Mchenry County Hurricanes, all of which the Leyden Renegades have beat in the past. So yes we do play weaker teams but we have played against all the top teams in the past and we have competed with all the top teams in the past.....

You talk of good teams that you have played and beaten? Who are they. Since you have been together for only one year, What tournaments have you been in? You speak of the MSBL, That league is for 12 & 13 & 14's? Where are you playing now

Ok like i said in my last post....the players from the Biscuits formed one team this year....in the past 4 or 5 years we were split in 2 teams 1. Leyden Renegades 2. Leyden Eagles....who both played in the MSBL and CABA and both having one of the best records in the league each year...Last year we were just a tournament team playing in CABA and USSSA in the tournaments in Lynwood and Crystal lake....we lost to hamlin 4-3 and we lost 2 F.S. Vipers 3-2 in the last inning so yes we compete with all the major teams in the state...so this isnt our first year playing together this is just our first year being called the Biscuits...and this year we werent playing to be credited with National attention we were just playin 2 have sum fun and stay sharp for fall ball...being ranked this year was just a bonus 2 us....and by the way when i played for the leyden renegades we were 11th in the state when i was 12, we were 15th in state when i was 13 and we were ranked the other 2 years but im not sure wut the exact # is...now ill try 2 think of all the teams that would be considered "top teams" according to you.....
Hamlin Park we split in the 2 games against them
McHenry County Hurricanes we split
F.S. Vipers beat us by 1
Naperville beat us 5-3
Downers Grove has 2 players that used 2 play on Leyden
Illinois North Stars lost to us
Schaumburg Thunder lost to us 3 times in a row
Algonquin Riverdogs lost to us
Weve beaten the Indiana Playmakers
Slaughtered Cobra Baseball
......................
Thats all i could remember from the past so i think i made my point....
