USSSA Tournament

My 2012 was asked to try out for a regional USSSA team. If he makes it, goes to Florida for a tournament.Have not heard too much, is it worth the time and money or is this just a money maker for them? They charge $200 to try out.
Any info would be great.

My 2013 is playing in the 14U portion right now in Florida. I will get an update after his game. They won the first one, but he was 0-2 so it should be a mixed review.
