There are others that will fill you in with more detail but attached is the link to the website. This is a program on the rise. It would not surprise me to see them visiting Omaha within the next 2 years. Very strong academic school...you will need grades to get in.

Unfortunately (check my screen name), this is an outstanding program, coach is very well-liked, by players and fans alike, facilities are top notch, beautiful stadium, and they now recruit nationally. They seem to do a great job of developing their talent, and are now attracting national-type talent to boot. They can be pretty picky as to who (no pun intended) they recruit.

Will people be mentioning Virginia in the same sentence as programs like Miami, Georgia Tech, Texas, Tulane, Rice, Florida, Florida State, and LSU?
Does a pitcher need to throw in the 90s to go to UVA?
Did Sean Doolittle get drafted this past summer?

Will they be in the same league as the programs you mentioned? Time will tell.

Doolittle was a Freshman this year (read the link on prior posting). Ryan Zimmerman was drafted 1st round 4th pick by the Nationals, he was brought up to the "Show" in Sept and currently batting .455 (15 for 33). He possibly will be the 3rd baseman next year.

For what it is worth. As you look at colleges MOST of the information you are asking for is available on the respective school(s) website(s). I would recommend that you dig in a little deeper and look, it will help you make informed decisions. IMO the college decision needs to be more than just who got drafted (Zimmermans ability not the school got him drafted) and will the school be a national powerhouse. The other schools you mention are fine programs but may have their issues which can not be seen by knowing only that they had players drafted and a national name.

Doolittle was drafted out of high school by the Braves though. The players profiles will tell you all about their highschool experience and whether or not they got drafted. Novice Dad made good points about using the internet to your advantage in the search for schools and their programs.
