UVA Camp in Aruba!

Not a bad deal if you're on the coaching staff ... getting paid to take a vacation in Aruba. But wow, that's unusual, and off the charts price wise.

The ironic thing is, my son is the last person in our family who'd give a darn about the opportunity to go to Aruba. If the rest of us went to Aruba, he'd rather stay home and play ball on the local sandlot.

I checked the UVA website and this camp is not listed. Just wondering if it is truly affiliated with UVA and the baseball program.

It very well might be but since it is not on their site I would proceed with caution. Even if it is I would go to their camp on campus $299.

The only connection to UVA Baseball is that the UVA Baseball coaching staff will be the guest coaching staff for the program. The actual program is run through an outfit called Major League Beginnings....still...$2900!!

I received a letter from them as well and I jumped at the opportunity to do this. Sure, if you look at it the initial price is WOW 3 grand, but I have been to Aruba in the Winter and just the hotel costs down there are outrageous(between $300-$400 a night at most places). I also did call the baseball office at UVA to confirm that they are running the camp and they assured me that they are going to be there for the instuction and not just the honorary coaches. I am very excited about the opportunity for my kid. Hope to meet a few of you down there.
