Here is the standings for Virginia D1 schools as they wind down their seasons and get ready for conference playoffs in a few weeks. Virginia and JMU are leading their division/conferences. Liberty is solidly in 2nd place and having a very good year.

JMU 14-4, 24-19 overall
VCU 12-5, 24-20 overall
GMU 10-8, 27-16 overall
W&M 9-9, 25-18 overall
ODU 5-10, 17-27 overall

Mid-Eastern
Norfolk State 6-9, 16-22 overall

Independents
Longwood 20-16 overall

After 11 seasons as the senior member of Ray Tanner’s coaching staff at South Carolina, Liberty's Coach Jim Toman is in his third year with over 100 wins already and has/is putting together a very strong program. All players are contributing to the success of the team. For a D-1 program not a bad deal.
Yes, hat's off to Liberty and Coach Toman for hanging in there all season. Coastal Carolina still is undefeated in the division, but Liberty is hanging close in a tough and competitive division.

Based on these results it looks like VMI has slid way back behind Radford. Radford is on the upswing as well as Virginia Tech. Richmond and W&M haven't done much to improve their standings, position or results from last year. Hopefully, they can turn it around next year.
