Baseball: James River LHP Nathan Kirby named Gatorade Virginia Player of the Year. Kirby has signed with U.Va.

Previous 3 Gatorade Va. POYs were from 757: WBranch's Nick Thompson, Poquoson's Nick Crockett, Menchville's Ethan Carter.

He is at USC, but only had limited appearances this season. Has had some off the field issues, but there is no doubt he is a talented baseball player. He has one more season of eligiblity, hoping he can get his act together.

The first name of Poquoson's Crockett is Kyle, not Nick. He pitched in yesterday's victory of UVA over Army.

Nice article, though I think it shortchanges Kirby in the height department. He's at least 6'2", maybe 6'3" now.

Very nice article. I agree he sure looks taller than 6'1. If he is on it will be tough sledding for WB on Tuesday.
