Verbal Committments

I recenting heard that two local kid's had verbal committments yanked just before the official signing date. Is this common? Can't the other local D1's use this as leverage against those schools next year? As far as I know there were no character issues.

My son is a Jr. in HS and is being recruited by one of the schools involved. Any insight into this process?

Perhaps the school realized that they would not gain academic acceptance--that happens quite often

It is my understanding that grades were not the issue. Thanks for the insight. I thought it might have been the school trying to sweeten the deal for someone else. Poor grades would make it hard to get in and then stay eligible.

If grades were not the issue perhaps it was character issues or perhaps a hidden injury

It is unlikely they pulled the verbal because of another player or players-- reputable coaches don't that

I appreciate the info. Since I don't know all the factors it is easy to assume the worst and think the school arbitrarily pulled the scholarship. I will dig some more.
