I need to purchase a new Video camera for the Baseball Field. It is used to shoot from behind Home Plate during practices and Games. It is also used to film swings from the side during Batting Practice. I am also looking for a Camera that is attached through an APP to my phone so I can start and stop it. Any suggestions?

Go pro? there is also a guy who makes a bracket that hangs on the fence to hold the camera during games.
Problem we have had with the go pro is 1) we put it on the fence to record and it doesnt get close enough to get good enough details (we have a 50ft backstop-distance from homeplate) 2) kills battery on phone
We decided to go with regular sony handycam CX 230 we put them out there and zoom in where we need to and hook them up to a plug where we hook up PA system and it does the trick we have multiple cameras and review them later time (yes film study like football)
Cant help you with the phone app other than recording with Hudl-technique which was ubersense still one of the best i found.
Go Pro's battery is also very limited. The App I am referring to is an App that gives you the ability to Start and Stop Camera from the phone.
I don't know about apps but if you want very high quality high speed video for slo-mo without spending a fortune the Caso Exolim line of cameras are really good.
I think you need to include Bluetooth as a required feature on the camera. Cannor recall the brand, but mine has the bluetooth feture where you download an app on a bluetooth enabled device (phone, tablet) which provides these conttrols. I'd bet this is a rearch criteria on some of the major elctronics websites and should help you narrow down options.
Boom! Bluetooth is correct.
will do a great job!
