Update. I feel like bbscout.

I'm in the hotel room. Laptop and free wireless internet.

I know you're all dying to hear.

96 players. 12 groups of 8 in pool play. 7 matches each on the first day. Tough but easy flight. Three good players.....5 weak ones. Three way tie for first as each of us (the good ones) only lost to each other. A beat B who beat C who beat A. And A,B, and C beat everyone else in the group so we ended day one with identical 6-1 records.

I'm in the money!! Big Grin

Root for me TR.

Thirty players left. More pool play tomorrow. Six groups of 5. Top 2 from each plus 4 wild cards (based on winning percentage) advance to 16 man double elimination tournament.

It's a marathon.

I'm Fred Couples in a tournament with Tiger, Phil, Ernie, Vijay etc etc.

Probably rank 15-20 out of the final 30. Which means there are 15-20 better than me.

But, you never know. I could get hot.

Right TR?

Rizzi, this is getting old.

Linear is not, as you want to believe.
Just as you are NOT, as many believe.

Bottom Line: It's time to start heading in the right direction. In other words, take it to the Men's Only Forum, if necessary.

Bear,
Sounds like you had a great softball career.
I actually had the opportunity to face Ty Stofflet............ /QUOTE]

Jerry,

Just pulling on the chain a little bit, knowing a little bit more about your background than you do mine.

I also had the opportunity to catch the "Pennslyvania Dutchman".

Catching Ty was like 'sitting in a rocker chair". Ty had several MF pitches.

Brubacker was tough on LHH, since his down ball tilted late & in to the right handed hitter.

I remember we recruited a great CF from the Cedar Rapids Tourney to come east.
Roy Wegman maybe?

cheers

How did you come out in the 9-ball tournament?

How much $$$$$ ?????

Hope its more than I made traveling everywhere to see games of late-LOL In other words, hope you were at least able to pay traveling expenses and gate fees-LOL

Maybe Shep should start playing pool again...would probably be more profitable.

We should start an agent firm and be like Boros. Maybe Robert Stock and one or two others will let Shep represent them. That would be poetic justice Smile

What do you think about that bro???

Shep Cares

Did see some REALLY GOOD PROSPECTS though.

Missouri State Amateur 9Ball Tournament.

First Place is $2000.

Your new champion is..........I don't know. I left before it was over.

I took 13th-16th. $185. Lots of fun. $100 entry fee. $85 for a hotel room. Even.

But, I got my competition fix.......for free. And, that Teachers Billiards Name get promoted.

Probably about $1000 worth of Advertising.....for free.

Glad you did good Linear applaude

Just got off the phone with my dad and told him about you. Wanted to share your clips you posted earlier with him but you removed them. Why? They were excellent!!! As I mentioned, my dad was also a catcher and guess what bro? He used the exact same method you teach and demonstrated. My dad, as a HS catcher, averaged 1.7-1.85 pop times and ranked as top east coast catching prospect by many scouts in 1960/1961/1962.

If you would, email your clips and I will forward them to him. He is a great man and I truly believe the two of you will be able to talk endlessly about catching. When he sees your clips and thinks back to his style, he will probably say, wow, "it's de ja vu" all over again. Wink

Shep Jr.
linear,
your rantings got my attention so I decided to check out my vast library consisting of an old nike shoebox stuffed with dvd's and vhs tapes recorded from direct tv/cstv/espn college baseball telecasts

the mechanics you describe are alive & well, but in the minority

also a perk of tivo is it's 30 frames per second recording factor, so glove to glove times are pretty easy to figure, confirmed by a top ACC base thief nailed on 1.86 throw (your style mechanics), but sucessful on 1.98 throw

if I can figure out how to make a clip & not break any laws or p*** anyone of I'll share

sorry I couldn't come up with anything to argue aboutFrown

I guess you don't watch SNL, nor remember that saying.

I remember the Duck Pond in CT from ages ago. Women's Fastpitch have had their 15 minutes, for those who know about that.

Maybe Men's Fastpitch will get their 15 min before the turn of the next two decades!.
