We are puttting together a video tape for our senior boys that will include baseball footage from their high school years as well as some footage from the little league days. I'm trying to come up with some great music to add to the video. It doesn't necessarily have to be a baseball song and although I'm partial to anything Motown I can't find anything I truly love. Any ideas?

The Green Day song is great, I use it on a lot of DVD's I make for seniors/teams (gifts). It is sometimes called Suite Pee as well at the time of your life. Other choices:

Old Days by Chicago (has a reference to baseball cards).

Unbelievable

World's Greatist by R. Kelly

I Got the Power (great for hitting scenes)

Celebration

We are Family

Also, if anyone has a TIVO and you are still playing and there is any TV reports (news) on your team you can now record on the TIVO, send it to your computer, burn it to a DVD and then use it. Kinda cool.

Great softwear for this is Sonic MYDVD or Pinnacle Studio 9.
We do a video every year and i think it is perfect:

Starts off with the scene from the Natural "Pick me out a winner" ( you know the one )

And then we do the freshman pics- Always with the song "100 Years" by Five for Fighting *( THIS SONG COULD BE USED FOR ANY AGE GROUP AMAZING)

Then JV-Pics and music i forget at the moment

Then the Seniors on Varisty have thier baby pics and little kid pics being shown while I am The Greatest is played ( its by Kenny Rogers defintily can't go without this one ) Then after they show each of the players baby pics they show thier senior photo. Then the screen goes dark and it sais " THE FUTURE" and it then shows pics of all of the Fresh,Soph, and Juniors on Varsity.

If i could only use two songs they would Definitly be

1. I am the greatest- Kenny Rogers
2. 100 years- Five for Fighting

If you go with these two u can't go wrong
Last year, I did a photo slide show DVD with about 300+ pictures set to different tracks, including Fleetwood Macs "Don't Stop", Coldplay's 'Clocks', POD's "Alive", Lenny Kravitz "Fly Away".

The last chapter was of the final CIF game of the season, where I focused pretty exclusively on the outgoing seniors. The final pictures were of the post-game senior circle and embraces as they talked about their final season. It was set to Stevie Ray Vaughan's "Life without you" ... slow wailing blue's guitar. Not many dry eyes in the house on that one.

This year, for the opening chapter, I'm going to use "Fanfare for the Common Man" as performed by Emerson, Lake, and Palmer. Very dramatic fanfare opening, followed by very up-tempo treatment of the main melody. Also thinking of using Dire Straits' "Sultans of Swing", David Bowie's "Changes", Steve Miller Band "Fly Like an Eagle", and "Centerfield" is an obvious choice ...
