Any advice on the best way to video record games?

What position does your son play?
My boy is a C and I usually set up a stationary camcorder behind the lefty box. This is also good for RHP’s. I use a Dinkum systems fence mount and a Canon Vixia or something like that. This is also decent for AB’s, but I also record his AB’s from the side with my phone
My son is a Pitcher, primarily. He also catches, and plays 1st base,3rd base and outfield. Thx for the tips on your set up. I know that they is no way to capture the whole game , but at least his pitching and his At Bats.
For pitching, either catch from behind catcher, or 'open' side. For a righty, 3rd base side, lefty 1st. Same for hitting.
Catching is tough because it is near impossible to get 1b and 3b in the frame. I alternated so I had clips of 1b plays and 3b plays.
Get ready to be the team videographer. I started out sending a few clips for some 2022’s and next thing you know I’m uploading everything to Hudl.
For video editing I use Adobe Premiere Pro. I’d also recommend getting a big external drive. The videos can chew up a lot of memory depending on the quality
great tips! Thx!
