This sort of ties in with Baseball Guys Discussion. My 07 son basically missed his junior season and summer. Because a professional scout has seen him and is aware of his ability, a few colleges have contacted him by phone and email. Two have requested video and we are going to an indoor facility within two weeks to make a short video of him pitching and hitting. I have a sony 8mm 4 year old digital video recorder. Is this o.k.? Also, how do I convert the tape to CD. What do you knowledgable folks recommend?

Sony Digital-8. Will convert quite well, with your firewire port (the camera is probably not rigged with USB 2.0). I use Windows Movie Maker for everything, and the software that came with the camera should enable you to capture the video. Defintely, though, find out what format the coach would like...
...and you can offer it up as a .wmv file on CD that will play easily on the computer. PM me if you have any more questions on the mechanics.
