Friend of my son's goes there. He was an invited walk-on since they had never seen him, on the recommendation of a pitching coach he worked with. The kid took a chance and has been on the team for 2 yrs. already as a reliever. I believe he's now there #1 reliever. He loves it there. He especially likes the pitching coach. According to his mom, she's surprised he likes it so much since it's kinda an artsy school. I believe it's in the city and the field is a drive off campus. His sister went to Penn State and described it a ghetto because apparently the dorms were not up to par for her but he's very happy with his decision.

VCU is in the city of Richmond. For those trying to compare the suburbs of PSU, with city cement, it becomes a personal choice.
VCU, which competes within the Colonial Athletic Conference, is a solid mid-level collegiate baseball program, and has a good southern Medical School.

VCU is a good program well known for bringing in many transfer and Juco players. They also recruit some real good home grown talent.

Just so nobody starts screaming, they list 5 players on their 2005 roster with previous experience and there are 2 more that also transfered in. John Leonard from Clemson and Pete Farina from ELACC.
