Virginia connections in post season?

I was curious if there were any Virginia connections left playing in the post season. The only Va player I found on any of the 4 rosters is Clay Rapada. The Rangers have him being from Portsmouth and having played at Virginia State. Does anyone have any good Clay Rapada stories?

Any other lesser known connections?

Anyone else get the feeling that we may be seeing the Phillies and Rangers playing in the next round?

Javier Lopez - LHP for the Giants is a Virginia guy and has had a great year out of the bullpen for SF.

Graduated from Robinson HS in Fairfax in '95 and pitched at UVA from 96-99.

Javy has played on a bunch of different MLB teams now but he has really made a nice career for himself. I think this is his 8th big league season. With his ability to get lefties out he could easily last 5-6 more years, too!

Great to see him having success on such a big stage. He deserves it.

Both guys got action on the mound yesterday.

Could we be getting close to these guys facing off against each other in the WS? I still think the Phillies are the team to beat with that line up.

I know it would drive the networks crazy, but I wouldn't mind seeing a Giants and Rangers WS just for the pitching matchups.

Hopefully it will be the Giants and the Rangers.....who cares about the networks.......hell a kid can't even watch a baseball game these days unless they have cable.......

I may be wrong but I thought Clay Rapada graduated from Deep Creek High in Chesapeake. I've heard that he wasn't even really recruited out of high school but kept after it. Good job! I'm hoping for a Ranger/Phillies WS.... should be fireworks with both of those lineups going at it.

Clay Rapada was signed by Chicago Cubs area scout Billy Swoope in the Churchland High School parking lot after a Tidewater Summer League game. Congrats to Clay on all of his hard earned success !!!
