The Virginia Shamrocks(Former Virginia Barnstormers) will be holding tryouts for 2013 and 2014 teams.

Now this is interesting.

The 'real' Shamrocks (from Virginia) is a nationally recognized girls fastpitch program and
has been for decades. The 'new' 18U Shamrocks Head Coach is a National and Washington DC Metro Fastpitch HoF'r (and who has support from over 300 years of established relationships (College, Pro & International world wide women's programs).

One wonders how and why does the former baseball Virginia Barnstormers, and 'with over 30 years of relationships with College Coaches across the Nation" reach consensus and leveraging the girls premier Virginian Fastpitch program?

I have no idea the reasoning behind the name change, but both the softball coach and the baseball coach are affiliated with the same high school. Both have been around a long time.
