Coach Hartman - one of the winningest active coaches is NCAA baseball is an outstanding man on and off the field, we had nothing but positive experiences with him and his staff during our recruiting period. We know many who play for Coach Hartman and I have never heard a bad work or negative thing spoken about him from his players or his players parents.

Virginia Tech has a great baseball history and is now entering the ACC. With that will come a major recommitment to baseball and the other Olympic sports. Competition for playing time could be tough, bit it should be a top-notch situation.

I have only positives to say about Coach Hartman and Coaches Hartness and Phillips. They have always been fair to my son. If you play for tech you'll get a shot, if you perform you'll play. They gave my son every opportunity and treated him fairly.

Tech is a first class Institution.

How many scholarships do the baseball coaches get from the school? Are they fully funded with 11.7? Thanks.

They are fully funded. As you're in Maryland, you can also call Pat Pinkman at Pinkman Pitching in Herndon; Pat pitched at Tech and graduated 2-3 years ago and is very familiar with the program.

My oldest never received an offer from the Hokies, but Coach Phillips was very upfront and straight forward.

Sorry MDHS, but my son is only a 2005 and isn't at VT. But I am familiar with the program and believe it is up and coming, especially with the ACC connection now. Very good school, I'm still wondering how Hokieone got in though?
