I will just say Kellam is not at good as they could have been this year.

Braves - you are probably right - I think Maury lost to much pitching (2 D1 pitchers) and are probably just a bit behind Western Branch - also, lets not forget Garrett brought alot of offense to Maury and was the Player of the Year. Western Branch is young, but talented. I do think Maury will once again top the Eastern District with outstanding coaching and returning talented players from last years team.

Glad to see spring has sprung.I know IR has enjoyed some fame in the past and has ridden that horse to the fullest with its constant self-promotion ,but i don;t see them at the top,nor do I think the season losses they will have will pass with much fan fare ,similar to last year.I have watched enough to know the SE is very competitive and the stronger teams of Great Bridge,Western Branch and Grassfield will be at the top and not looking back. The beach crowd is struggling with injuries, weakness up the middle and that will make them struggle at the end of the season. We all know the eastern district has had talented kids and like IR was blessed with a regional trophy not to long ago(Granby).Maury should fall somewhere between five and six, unless the suppressed battery of pitchers get hot and are pitched competitively as they have not been in the past.Thankfully, they do not have the standard 140 pitch count to rely on or burdened with should I say.Whatever happens the season should be better across the board as I believe 10's are more competitive for all the districts.
I see Maury is getting a lot of "ink" here. So, are they a team with "outstanding coaching" or a team with a "suppressed battery of pitchers"? Only time will tell. As always the baseball in the area will be very competitive and fun, with a couple of private school teams probably challenging for spots in the top ten. There is one, for example, which has had a pretty good record against GCA over the past few years. It always seems to come down to riding a couple of hot arms down the stretch, and this year should be no different. I hope that this is a health-filled year for all the kids and we'll see how it all shakes out. Good luck to all parents, kids, and coaches we don't play. Play ball!
