LHP Nathan Kirby (2012, James River HS, Midlothian, VA) topped at 92 with loose, easy arm action

Simpson matched up against 6-6/190 LHP Jack Wynkoop of the Orioles over the first 4 innings. Wynkoop was perfect, retiring all 12 hitters he faced, before leaving the game. Wynkoop throws from an extended low 3/4's release point and was 87-89 mph with a sweeping 78 mph slider and nice 81 mph change up.

Hayden White (2012, RHP, The Steward School, Midlothian, VA) had his fastball sitting at 87-89mph with it topping out at 90mph while his curveball topped out at 74mph, and his slider topping out at 84mph. White has a loose arm action, with armside run on his fastball, and a low 3/4 arm angle.

Sunday afternoon, Powhatan and Va. Cardinals 2012 LHP Joe Manion threw three shutout innings in a start for Miami PG Columbia Blue against the St. Louis Pirates. The Pirates managed only one infield single off Manion, who got 5 of his 9 outs by strikeout. No ball was hit out of the infield.
