Wynkoop got the complete game win. For CH, Brian Wacker hit a 3-run home run and Mike Kroll hit a 2-run home run. Tyler Wynn for GC hit a home run also.

Ace 45, here is the info I got but since I was not given the correct tournament title by one of my sources or the cell phone connection was not good. . . Kroll hit his home run off Curry and Wacker hit his home run off McDonald. That "McDonald was touched for 9 runs, 6 his, 3 Curry's." The two statements seem in conflict. Will work on more info.
Just spoke with Cape Henry scorekeeper. Curry gave up 3 runs in the first inning. No more runs were yielded by GC until the 5th. Curry worked into the 5th inning. First batter singled, next got out, third batter singled, then McDonald came in to relieve Curry. 5 runs are charged to Curry and the balance (7) are charged to McDonald.

Congratulations to Cape Henry and first year coaches Ryan Morris (head coach), Alex Smith and Brian Hennesy on winning the state tournament. Cape Henry defeated the Covenant School 9-3. Covenant School struck first, scoring 3 runs, their only runs of the game, in the first. Covenant School maintained the lead until the 4th inning when Cape Henry scored 5 runs to take the lead permanently. CH added 2 insurance runs in each of the 5th and 6th innings. Offensively, Cape Henry was led by Tyler Ballard, who hit a single and a 3-run homer, Jack Wynkoop, who hit a 2-run homer, and Cole Pachter who also had multiple hits in the game, going 2-3. Tyler Ballard also was the winning pitcher, pitching the first 6 innings. Sean Poppen pitched the 7th inning for CH.
What a great story Cape Henry was this year. Got hot and stayed hot at just the right time. Congratulations to the team and coaching staff.
