A coach has called and set up a visit with my son at his school. What should he expect? Should he "dress up", look better than normal, or just like normal? What do the coaches want to see? If the head coach can not be there (he does not teach at the school) should we get the asst or jv coach to meet with them? Is this a normal thing for coaches to do? Thanks for your help in advance.

First let me say that a visit to the HS is not the norm but it is also not unheard of

As for your son let him be himself---dont be something he isn't

The Head Coach SHOULD be there--if is cares he will make the time for the meeting--if it is totally impaossible for the HS Coach to make it I would invite the HS AD to be in attendance--perhaps even have the meeting in the AD's office.

Hope this helps you

with the info provided this in my guess(s)

off campus contact IS allowed Sr yr

some 4yr schools around here don't begin till late Sept, the OFFICIAL VISIT can't take place 'til they begin school

he wants a little face to face time with you before offering (or not) the "OFFICIAL"

if he is able to meet your hs coach, he might garner his support to steer you to his program

OR - it's just the way this guy does things

I doubt they'd expend THAT effort unless there was interest

not to worry if hs coaches are not there, he's recruiting YOUR SON, he can get info from them by phone

remember - they do this ALL THE TIME, just ask the coach what he expects from the hs coach, AD etc and how the hs should structure the visit
