VMI Baseball Wins First Two Games @ Florida

Congratulations to Coach Marlin Ikenberry, his staff, and the entire VMI baseball team in beating Florida in two games straight to begin their season! For those who watched the game (for free) on GatorVision (on the Internet) last night or who listened to the game on the VMI Sports Network this afternoon, there are many VA high school grads enjoying the start to their season thus far! For those junniors out there, don't dismiss what VMI (and VMI baseball) has to offer!

This constitutes a die-hard baseball fan and proud VMI graduate providing some sage advice to those who are looking at possibly playing baseball for an up and coming program under an excellent coaching staff. Don't dismiss what VMI has to offer....it's not easy by design, but then again, anything worth having isn't handed to you--you have to earn it. Now let's get rid of this wintry mix and look forward to temperatures in the 50s for next week!

3up- one pitcher i know has left the team ,to concentrate on school.

CFHS dad- congrats to the team, my youngest is a 4th class(no rat no more,lol). I checked out the new field/stadium last time I was up and it looks great. I will be checking out a game or three when I go up to visit my son. Great school!

Nice....VMI pushed back their home opener to Saturday when they are planning to host Bucknell for a 1PM start to a doubleheader. Sunday's game will start at 1PM--no change for Sunday's game. Needless to say, I need to buy some stock in Under Armour.....their Cold Weather gear must be flying off the shelves this year!
