Big Series this weekend in Lubbock.
Mansfield vs. El Paso Franklin
I am expecting a fairly exciting series, but I have bigger things on my mind. And that's the two big boys for each squad.
Walden vs. Marshall
Walden, roughly 6'5" 220 pounder, going up against a slightly shorter, but bigger Marshall, roughly 6'2"-6'3" 275 pounder. Both righty/righty and good players.
Heard a couple years back that the two were facing each other for the first time and Marshall was instructed to hit Walden for Walden's coach stealing signs from Marshall's catcher. As any good player would do, Marshall drilled him in the elbow.
Do you think either of them are going to re-kindle the fire and have a little extra when the other comes up to the dish?
Any hot heads in this game on Friday?

Not that old story again.

Doubt Mike even realizes that Walden was on the mound that day.

Both these kids are studs and they will continue to play long after high school is over. Mike is the best power hitter that I have ever seen.

Want to hear a good Mike Marshall story? He hit one over the clock tower at Lagrave field last summer. 16 years old. OVER the clock tower and nearly into the Trinity River.
I spoke with Jordan at length a few hours ago and he didn't mention anything about Mr. Marshall. Jordan's extremely easy going and the kind of kid that's not going to hold a grudge over something petty like that. Besides, I think he's aware he could kill somebody with a beanball....

What happened a few years ago was unfortunate but it's water under the bridge IMO.
